Sleepy Baby 8-1-11

Today, mommy had a doctor’s appointment.  This one was at two o’clock.  Of course this is my normal nap time.  It drives me crazy when they want me to put on a show during nap time… So, I made mom a little nervous during the non-stress test…but I was sleeping.  I mean dad gets to do it so why shouldn’t I? J  This made the doctor schedule some extra pictures after the non-stress test.  I rocked it out during the picture session.  I took the chance to practice my “water sprinkler” dance moves.  This made mom and the doctor happy.  Mom and Dad also found out that I weigh about 7lbs 3oz.  The doctor is convinced it will be any day now.  I guess you will all have to wait and see!  Who knows, I just might get to type the next posting.

Daddy’s Haircut 7-28-11

Today, Daddy went to get his haircut.  Daddy wanted to make sure he was looking as good as me when we get to meet.  So, he went to Salon Infinity to get his haircut.  Jamie, the person who cuts mom and dad’s hair, gave him a gift to pass along to mom and me.  It was a rockin’ outfits, picture album, and super cute frame (that mom cannot wait to put my picture in).  Thank you, Jamie!

My sneaky daddy also made mom an appointment to get a pedicure on Saturday.  Daddy has been making these kinds of appointments every two weeks, since the start of July.  I think mom could get used to getting pampered like this…  I do have to say, mom’s feet look great.

Happy Anniversary 7/25

Today was mom and dad’s anniversary. With the way things have been going Mom and dad joked that I would decide to arrive today.  This made their doctors appointment exciting for them.  They started the appointment with a non-stress test.  I made mom wait a whole 30 minutes before I decided to shake my groove thing for the doctors.  Then came dad’s favorite part of my appointments, I got my picture taken.  The ultrasound tech was a little rough and really pushing on mommy’s belly, so I decided that I would block her camera with my hands.  Then it was on to talk with the doctor.  They said everything looked good and it was all up to me for when I wanted to join the family.  Between you and me….I think mom and dad are not quite ready for me….so I am going to give them a few more days to get ready.

After the doctor’s appointment dad had a surprise planned.  He had a mini-cake made at mom’s favorite bakery. So, they took a field trip to Bake N Cakes (mom thought we were getting cupcakes).  I have to say, dad has great taste.  The cake was awesome.  It was so good, that after they finally ate a piece I didn’t stop moving for almost an hour.

Then it was a short trip home, where mom made an amazing dinner.  I forgot how good of a cook she is.  With all of the time she has spent on bed rest, mom has not spent much time in the kitchen.  Mommy was pretty excited about making dinner because she loves to cook.  The chicken dish that she made turned out to be a wonderful. The rest of the night was full of laughing and remembering the past two years.  Happy anniversary to the best parents a boy could have!!

A Surprise Gift 7/25

Today we received a surprise package in the mail. This suprise was from mommy's old college roommate, Cyndi Lockey. When mom opened it she laughed and had a huge smile on her face.  The package was a personalized Packer onesie for me!  Everyone is assuming that I am going to be a Packer fan (oh, do I have news for them!).  On the back of the shirt it says “Critter 11”. I thought mom and dad were kidding about naming me critter!  Now they are taking this too far and starting to scare me…and they wonder why I have not decided to join the family!?!?!  I am staying where I am until I know what my name is.  Thank you so much Cyndi.  I know it will look great on me.

6/15 Another wonderful visit by my future friends!

I was excited today, because mom and dad had a visitor!  Mrs. Thompson made a visit with her adorable twins!!  This made me very excited!  Mom and dad got to hold both of the beautiful babies that are getting so big.  It will be so much fun after I come out and all three of us get to play.

6-14-11 Look who's driving now....

Today was another doctor’s appointment.  Daddy came late to this appointment….This made mommy excited, because she got to drive to the appointment.   This was her first time driving since this whole thing started April 29th.  She thought it was wonderful to have some of her freedom back.  I had to laugh because that freedom will be gone when I decided to show up.
The doctor’s appointment went well.  It started with a non-stress test.  They scheduled the test during my nap time.  Mom knew this so she requested a fruit juice to wake me up.  It works every time!  As soon as I got a taste of my favorite fruit juice I started boogying down.
After the NST, it was time for me to get my picture taken.  Daddy showed up just in time to see this.  So, I decided to flex my muscles for him and give him a good show.  I want everyone to know how strong I am.  The technician also measured me to see how big I am.  They think I weigh about 6 pound, 6 ounces.  That puts me in the 54th percentile!
Then mom and dad got to meet with the doctor.  It had been a while since they had seen Dr. Crampton.  She was pleased with the progress both me and mom were making.  They decided to let me stay cooking for another week…..that is unless, I decide, I am ready to make an appearance!

6-11-11 The Safety Net is Gone!

Today mom and dad had to go to the hospital…. But not for what you think!  Mommy had to have her cerclage removed.  That is what may have been holding me in place.  The doctor decided that it would be a good idea to do this at the hospital just in case I decided to make my appearance right away.  Silly doctor!!!  I wish someone would tell them that I am just like daddy.  We move at our own pace.  This means that I am not going to show up until I am good and ready.  Right now, I am not ready!  I keep telling people to relax but they just don’t listen.

July 8, 2011 The Wait is finally over….. Well, kind of.

Today was an exciting day full of patiently waiting.  In the morning, a glass guy was coming to fix the window of the Ford Focus.  Yesterday, some wonderful teenager decided he wanted to practice his slingshot skills.  This wonderful teenager was so good with his slingshot that he hit the back of one of our cars with a marble.  This, of course, shattered the back window of our car.  So, after cleaning up a lot of glass and filing a police report the day before, the glass company came out to fix the window of the car.
It was the afternoon delivery that I was super excited for.  In the early afternoon, the VERY LONG WAIT for my nursery furniture was over (literally had to wait over a month….we were told two weeks). Now the fun could begin.  Dad and Grandma Bryan were the lucky ones that got to put together my crib (thank god the dresser came assembled!)  The delivery guy told Daddy that it would take 10 to 20 minutes to put it together…..well 3 hours later it was all done.  ;)  I don’t think that grandma and daddy even had it out of the box in less then 20 minutes.  But I’m sure that all that extra time was daddy’s way of making sure I will be safe and sound when I start sleeping in it.  Right?

I think that mine and mommy’s favorite part was around the 2 hour mark when grandma asked daddy if he was following the right set of directions.  Silly daddy thought that the box would only have one set of directions.  Not the original set plus the corrective set.  Oh well it should be great practice for him as I get older and he has to put my toys together.

July 6, 2011 Surprise!!

This was a pretty normal day.  Daddy went to work in the morning (he is a teacher for a summer enrichment program). When he got home it was about .  Daddy had just started telling me about the very cool rockets they were shooting off when they heard a nock at the door.  Mom and dad were very surprised by this because they were not expecting anyone.  When daddy got to the door the UPS man was waiting for him.  We got a HUGE package to unwrap from Grandma and Grandpa Bryans good friends, Mr. & Mrs. Kuszmaul.  When mom and dad opened the box they found my crib bedding set.  It was full of jungle critters.  I can’t wait to see it!  Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Kuszmaul.

June 26, 2011

Today I am very excited because Grandma Weddig is coming to see us.  Her visit is a two part visit.  She plans on spending a couple of days with us then flying down to North Carolina to see my new cousin, Olivia.  Then she will come back and spoil me with all of her good cooking!

Along with Grandma came a lot of gifts from family members!  The first one that I opened was from mommy’s Aunt Linda and Uncle Ron.  The bought me some “Beary” cute outfits and very colorful book to help me build my vocabulary.  Daddy is so excited to read it to me that he has already started practicing reading it to mommy’s tummy.  Thank you!

Along with that gift came some toys from mommy’s cousin Jessica.  I can hear mommy playing with them and it makes me very excited!  I can not wait to see them.

The next gift was from mommy’s Aunt Winnie and Uncle Andy. They sent some super cute outfits that will surely keep me snug as a bug in a rug this fall and winter.  I can’t wait to cuddle up in that sweater and cuddle up to mommy in those super soft PJ’s. Thank you to Aunt Winnie and Uncle Andy.

The next gift was from a family friend, Andrea Way.  She sent us a super soft blanket and other things that all babies need.  Like wipes to keep my bum clean and great smelling soaps.  Thank you Andrea!

The last gift was from Grandma Weddig.  She made me not just one blanket but TWO!  She crocheted me a super soft blanket to roll around on.  If that was not enough she also made me the cutest baby quilt.  It is full of little puppies!  I can’t wait to curl up with it this winter. Thanks Grandma!

July 4, 2011 Independence Day!! (Not for me LOL)

Today was a day full of a lot of loud noises that made me jump!  After making a fantastic Fourth of July feast, Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma Weddig (Grandma came back from North Carolina yesterday) decided to go and watch the fireworks.  Normally, mom and dad would go and watch the fireworks on the Gladstone Beach, but this year they had a change of plans because mommy could not travel.  So they did the next best thing.  They packed the car up and headed out to the Meijer Parking lot to watch the fireworks (we would have gone to the fairgrounds but mommy needs to have a bathroom close by).  Mom, Dad and Grandma found a grassy nole to set up their chairs.  Mom and dad were not sure exactly the direction the fireworks would be set off so they sat in the same direction as the rest of the crowd.  Once the fireworks started they had to adjust their seats just a little, but still had a fabulous view of the always impressive Mason fireworks display.

June 20, 2011 Laughing So Hard…I Almost Peed My Pants (If I wore any)

Today was a nice and relaxing day.  The weather has been perfect. Mom and dad have been spending a lot of time sitting by the pool relaxing.  Mom is not allowed to go swimming, but she enjoys reading her books and watching daddy do headstands in the pool.  Later that day mommy and daddy decided to go and see a movie.  They went to see the movie Bridesmaids.  I have not heard mommy laugh so hard in a long time!  It made me shake my booty!
When mom and dad got back from the matinee they had a gift waiting for them.  Aunt Lesley sent mom and dad a book full of short stories.  A great read to pass the time.

June 17, 2011 Another Doctors Appointment

This week we had another doctor’s appointment.  Mom has calmed down a lot.  Most of our doctor appointments are accompanied by an ultrasound.  I guess they want to make sure the gate is still shut and I can not make a break for it.  Since mommy’s appointments are accompanied by pictures of me…. Mom is starting to look forward to the appointments again.  I always make sure I put on a good show for her.  At this appointment mom and dad found out I was 4 lbs, 4 oz.  I am in the 52 percentile for my stage in development.  Mom and dad were pretty excited by this.  I guess all of those wonderful meals provided by people that care about us have paid off.  I am growing at just the right rate.

June 16, 2011 A New Family Member

Everyone is very excited today.  My Aunt Nichole is going to have a baby today!!  An older cousin for me to look up too!  Mom and dad have been anxiously waiting by their phones for phone calls to tell them that Aunt Nichole’s c-section went well.  They were relieved at when they got the phone call that said Aunt Nichole and baby were doing well.  My new cousin’s name is Olivia Kate Weber.  She was born at .  She weighed 9 lbs. 6 oz. and was 21 inches long.  I know we are all very excited and we can not wait to meet them!

6-9-11 Pizza Hut!!

This is an exciting day because Daddy only had to work a half day.  After he got home from work he broke mommy and I out of jail.  We went to Pizza Hut for lunch.  It was super!  After our pizza lunch we went home because mommy was super sleepy.  After a short nap they had their last visitor. Myrna brought us dinner.  The meal was provided by Brenda Bradley.  It was a wonderful pork chop feast with all of the fixings.

6-8-11 Running Errands for Mommy

Today daddy had to do some running for mommy.  While he was doing this he ran into one of mommy’s co-workers, Erin Thompson.  After chatting for a few minutes Erin gave daddy a huge surprise.  She supplied me with my first Notre Dame fix!!  A cap that I will wear home from the hospital, and a Notre Dame counting book that daddy has been reading to me non stop.  He does not just want me to come out counting….but he wants me to be up to date on the number of Heisman Trophy winners, national titles, and other traditional facts that all good ND fans should know!!
Daddy was so excited by this that he accidentally took Mrs. Thompson’s car keys before he left.  Daddy did not realize this until he was in the parking lot.  He was trying to unlock his car and noticed that the car behind him kept honking at him.  It was at this time he realized what he did and had to go back and not only return the keys to Mrs. Thompson but also retrieve his keys.

6-7-11 Homemade Bread

Today had a wonderful surprise, Jeanie dropped off a wonderful meal provided by The Doane’s (Grady and Tammi).  They made a wonderful beef and broccoli dish that was srumpshish.  Tammi also made us a loaf of homemade bread that was possibly the best bread I have ever had.  I know that this yummy dish made me march to the Notre Dame Fight song.  I thought I would practice for when the band plays the song for me after I score my first touchdown!!  As if that was not enough….Mr. & Mrs. Doane also sent a fantastic gift.  I can not wait to wear the very cute dinosaur polo shirt, and mommy has already been reading the book to me.  It sooths me to hear her read a book about how much everyone loves me!

Rub a dub, dub….I can’t wait to get in the TUB!!! Friday 6-2-11

Today the FedEx man dropped off a wonderful package.  It was a gift set of Johnson & Johnson’s bath soaps and lotions.  I can’t wait to soak in a bath and smell wonderful from this gift set of bath goodies!  It was from mommy’s cousin Heather in da UP.  Which by the way, I hope to see before mommy and daddy have to go back to work in September.  Thank you very much Heather Wastell and family.

A Breath of Fresh Air & A Refreshing Dinner!

Today was an exciting day!  Janine Huisjen stopped by to visit and brought a wonderful and refreshing dinner for mom and dad.  She brought an assortment of refreshing summer salads that were filled with fresh vegetables and a fantastic strawberry dessert.  They made me jump and jive with excitement because I know eating my veggies will make me a strong little boy.  I showed mom later that evening how strong I was by kicking her belly so hard….I knocked a piece of paper that was on her belly onto the floor!  Daddy was proud!  He said he was positive that I would be a kicker for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish soon!  I think he is right! I did my calisthenics that night to the ND Fight Song!

Even better then the dinner was visiting with Janine!  I could tell mommy was sad that Janine will be retiring at the end of the school year.  She sure has enjoyed working with her over the past 6 years. Thank you Janine!

A Fantastic Trip….to see the doctor??? Wednesday, June 2nd

Mommy had another trip to see the doctor today.  She was VERY NERVIOUS!  We started the appointment with an ultrasound.  They wanted to check mommy’s cervix to make sure I could not make a break for it.  They also wanted to make sure I had enough fluid and take a couple of pictures of ME!!  When they were taking pictures of me the ultrasound tech noticed that I was practicing my breathing skills!  How exciting!!!  I did not want to have my picture taken that day, because I was super comfy and focusing on learning how to breathe.  So, I covered my face with my arm.  I figured mom and dad got to see me breath…that would have to be good enough for the day!

Next, it was on to see the doctor.  She said everything looked GREAT!  Everything looked so great that they changed to type of bed rest mom is on!  She can now walk around on occasion and take field trips every few days! Still no lifting, pushing, work or cleaning but…. We get to go out to eat, take rides in the car, go hang out by the pool and go see a movie!!! We can not do this every day…but we can still do all of these wonderful things every once and a while. YEAH!!  I was so excited; I decided to shake my booty to Madonna’s Celebrate!

“Come Monday” A Birthday Celebration! Monday, May 30th

The next day, (Monday) was Mommys Birthday!!   Mommy and daddy still did not have power…but they were not going to let that ruin the day. I started the day by singing the correct lyrics to the song “Come Monday” (Mommy loves this song but can’t seem to get the words correct.  She always slips in something about a paper bag…. Silly mommy should not be allowed to go to Buffett Bash.  Good thing she can’t go this year!)

Mommy had the great idea to call Consumers Energy to find out when they thought the power was going to come back on.  The original date they were given was May 31st, (Tuesday) by .  They thought this was no big deal and got ready for the day.

Later that day, Grandma and Grampa Bryan decided to come and visit for Mommy’s Birthday!  They went to have dinner at Texas Roadhouse and enjoyed the air conditioning (it was getting kind of warm).  They then went to Big B coffee to have a cool drink…. I was okay with this because I did not want mom to get to hot and “hard boil critter.”  This also made me happy because I knew a yummy berry pie was soon to be mine. I love it when mom “Pours Some Sugar on Me.”

This little break also allowed mom and dad to charge their cell phones.  Well, dad decided to call Consumers Energy to see if they were still predicting power to come on Tuesday.  When he called…they had updated the time.  They updated the time the power would come back on… they were now predicting that the power would come back on Thursday, June 2nd by .  UGH! It was at this time, mom and dad decided to upgrade from “camping” to a hotel.  From reading the news we found out that up to 60 power lines were snapped in half outside of Mason.  This along with all of the trees that had fallen on lines in town, was the reason for the delay in getting the lights turned back on.

Mom and dad enjoyed their time at the Holiday Inn.  Mommy was able to relax by the pool and read while daddy swam. Mommy also soaked her feet in the hot tub from time to time.  This was just the change of scenery that mommy needed.  The power came back on sometime Tuesday night and we returned home Wednesday morning.

When we returned home we did have a package waiting for us.  Thank you to Aunt Tammy, Uncle Larry (Hoeft)  and Aunt Mary (Olson) for the baby toys

The Great Mason Power Outage of 2011 – Sunday. 5-29-11

Well, mom and dad were having a very uneventful day.  It was around when mom and dad decided to turn on the TV.  When they did they were surprised to find out that the local station was broadcasting some special programming to let people know a storm was on the way.  So, I decided to do my tumbling to some “Thunderstruck.”

Storms always excite mom because she loves watching them (weird…huh?)  Anyways, it was very calm outside.  No breeze, no birds flying in the sky, just a calm evening.  That was until they started tracking a storm that was scheduled to hit Mason (the place where mom and dad live).  Mom and dad were not worried until they heard this odd sound…the storm coming.  It was at that point that mom and dad decided to take a siesta in the bathroom.  They could hear the wind whipping around outside from the storm.  Within a few minutes the power went out.  After about 15 minutes they emerged from the bathroom to find a lot of tree branches down and some debris in the parking lot.  Dad decided to venture out to see how bad it really was.  They had a lot of very large trees down blocking roads and down power lines in there neighborhood.  Dad took some pictures so mom could see the destruction since she couldn’t leave the house.

Well, this did not bother mom and dad at all.  They were happy they were just without power.  Dad decided to venture to Meijer to grab dinner for us (the only store open in Mason).

When dad got back they had a picnic dinner and sat around a “campfire” (aka candles) for the rest of the night.  They laughed, joked around and ate “somores.”  I of course had to sing some songs and do some tumbling before bed.  The “campfire” reminded me of a “Ring of Fire.”  So, I sang some Johnny Cash and did my tumbling.  When I was done mom and dad ventured to bed with no power.

Today was an uneventful day that was broken up by the UPS man….TWICE! Friday. 5-27-11

Our first delivery came all the way from the land of beer and cheese….Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  A city that mom LOVES!  The package was for me of course and not mom…but that does not matter.  This was a very colorful package.  It contained some super comfy PJ’s that I look forward to snuggling in.  It also contained a book that will teach me my colors!  Mom said that she loved the colors and textures and she can not wait to read it to me.  Thank you Uncle Steve and Aunt Kathy (Weddig) for the wonderful gift.

The next gift comes from a place mommy really missed going to visit this past weekend…. This package made it all the way here from Da UP!  It contained all kinds of goodies like, pacifiers, toys, cloths, a movie to pass the time, a little critter photo album and a PICTURE OF ME!  A LITTLE CRITTER picture to hang in my room.  Mom had to laugh because she said that if I look like critter I will be a hairy beast…..then she laughed, because she knows that probably will not happen because being a hairy beast is not a problem the Weddig males have!  LOL Not funny mommy!!  I can always hope to have a head of hair like daddy.

One of the shirts is a bottle that says “Born to Tailgate CMU.”  (Daddy says I get that from mommy)  FIRE UP CHIPS!!!!!

This next package made me so happy I decided to mess with mom a little.  I decided to practice my karaoke skills to, “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow.”  I did this just for Mrs. Harris!  I was thinking about singing, “Bye, Bye, Bye” but I think I will save that ditty for another day.

Thank you Amy Harris and Family!  We miss you and can not wait to make the trip to Da U.P. to see you!!

A rainy day with a glimmer of sunshine! Thursday 5-26-11

Today was a cold and rainy day.  Mom was kind of happy that she could not go outside and instead enjoyed listening to the pitter patter of rain drops on the roof.  Even with all of the rain, today was a day that did have a little glimmer of sunshine.  Jeanie Murphy (6th grade teammate) brought a spectacular dish.  She made a wonderful rigatoni pasta bake that was perfect comfort food on a cold and rainy day.  What made me even happier was to hear my mom laugh as Jeanie shared some funny stories with mom.  This made me “shake my groove thing” to some KC and the Sunshine band.

Tasty Tuesday

Today was another meal day from the completely awesome staff that mommy works with.  It was an incredible showing by a 5th grade teacher, Cathy Freeman.  The rice and chicken casserole that she prepared had mommy and daddy taking 2nds and 3rds.  Daddy was extra happy because he had leftovers for his lunch.  On top of me and mommy getting fed mommy got some much needed time with another adult.  I could tell that mommy was very happy to have a visitor to talk shop with.  Jeanie Murphy was able to provide the little taste that mom needed.  I can tell many days, how much mommy misses her other kids.  It is yet another reason I think I might be the most luckiest boy in the world.  :) Then if that wasn’t enough daddy looks different some how….. he doesn’t look as much like the kitchen mop as he did yesterday. ;)  He better watch out, cause if he hasn’t noticed, I can be a little cute pain when I want to be.

Monday, Monday…. 5/23

Well, Monday was a little stressful for mommy.  She was in a little bit of pain.  She was thankful and surprised when the UPS man stopped at her door.  Mommy and I got a “care package” from Aunt Colleen.  The care package had all kinds of things to help mommy pass the time.  Crossword/suduko puzzles, and some murder mysteries that all had a theme….cooking and death.  It also had a gift card for some card side to go from Applebee’s.  Humm…..I wonder if she is trying to say something about mommy’s cooking. ;)  I guess I had better watch out.  Thank you Aunt Colleen.

Breaking the Law, Breaking the Law 5/21

Well, mommy and daddy must have some type of inside joke.  Daddy kept saying that mommy was going to break parole and he was going to drive the get away car!  I am not sure what that is all about, but last week the doctor said mommy could go for a ride in the car!  On Saturday, daddy drove the squad car and took mommy for a modified night on the town!  The trip was not that long, because the doctors have mom drinking GALLONS of water to help her deal with the kidney stone.  So, the trip was broken up quite a few times…this allowed mommy to investigate every McDonald’s bathroom on the Southside of Lansing.  LOL Then the trip ended at one of my favorite takeout restaurants…Wood’s Oasis!  Yummmm  There is nothing better than a spicy chicken schwarma sandwich.

Tumbling

Today we had an early surprise.  Marcy Thayer dropped off dinner early.  Marcy’s little man was waiting for her in the car so she could not stay long….but mommy was still happy to have a visitor during the day.  Marcy brought Chicken tortilla soup for dinner…and fresh fruit.  It was very hard for mommy to not have the soup for lunch because it looked soooo good.  All the fruit however, did not make it to dinner.  Mommy eats so much fruit I think she is trying to turn me into a fruit!!  She just can not get enough. LOL  Thank you Marcy for the wonderful dinner.

Later in the evening, I decided to practice my karaoke skills.  I know that daddy likes to sing Kid Rock songs.  So, I decided to rock out to that "Bawitdaba.”  I got so excited and so into my tumbling that I made mommy’s belly move.  I was moving so much that daddy saw it before mom could alert him to my boogie.  Daddy was so surprised by this, that he thought mommy had an alien in her belly. This made me even more excited, so I kept up my show.  This made daddy very happy.

A Couple of Long Days

Well, mommy is a worry wart and had a couple of long days.  She started having some back pain on Saturday night (along with some other symptoms).  Mommy and daddy called the on call doctor, and they told her to drink lots and lots of water.  Well, she had some pain again today and Grandma Bryan told her to call the doctors office again.  After a road trip to be checked out, mommy found out that she might have a kidney stone.  This was not all bad, because I got to have my picture taken again today.  They took a great headshot of me.  I have a nose that is as cute as a button, if I do say so myself.  My mouth was wide open for the headshot, because I was practicing for my American Idol audition.  It made mommy smile and breathe a sigh of relief.

When mommy and Grandma Bryan got home they had multiple surprises waiting for them.  First, daddy was home from work.  This made me pretend to “Walk Like an Egyptian.”  If that was not enough, we had a wonderful hot meal waiting for us.  Thanks to Kristin Phillips who provided me with a scrumptious rotisserie chicken for dinner.  She also brought me a very cute sweat suite and diapers (I love diapers….I can not wait to leave mom and dad all kinds of surprises in them).

I am starting to gather all kinds of wrapping for my future parent presents because yesterday Carol Franz dropped off a care package to daddy at the high school.  It had diapers and a “Beary Cute” outfit.  Mommy and daddy can’t wait to see my little feet in the bear head footies.  :)

The last surprise was a UPS delivery.  It was my car seat!!  This made daddy very excited!  He was overjoyed because when I tried to make a break for it in April, the only thing he could think of was, “how do we get him home?”…..  Now when I decide that the time is right, I get to ride in my plush car seat. Daddy took the chance to put the whole package together.  And it may sound kind of funny, but I think he might have almost been more excited to find that his pop fit in the cup holders perfectly.  :)  Thank you grandma Bryan for everything you have done the last couple of days!!  I am so blessed to have such wonderful grandmas.

House Arrest

Today was a good day.  I let mommy sleep in.  Don’t tell her and daddy, but it won’t be too much longer that I will let them do that.  I am a bit confused though because mommy keeps talking about being on “house arrest.”  I do know that she hasn’t violated parole so I guess that is good.  And since my mom seems to be under arrest, I thought it was fitting that I jammed to Jail House Rock while I did my tumbling drills.  :)

My New Friends 5/13

Well, mommy woke up this morning feeling a lot better.  This is good because today is a day full of change, since today Grandma Weddig left.  Mommy was very thankful to have had her helping out over the past week and was sad to see her go.  This is also the first time; Mommy has been alone since the procedure in April.  So, she had a little anxiety, but I calmed her down.  I did some moving and shaking this morning!  This reinsured Mommy that we would be okay, while daddy was at work.  I wonder if she knows I was doing the Macarena?  ;)   (Don’t tell her it wasn’t the Hustle!) LOL

Later in the day, I got maybe the coolest surprise.  I got to hang out with my future best friends.  Ellen and Patrick Thompson were able to convince their mom (Erin) and dad (Todd) to stop by.  It was really cool to hang out with some other young Notre Dame Fighting Irish fans!!!  While my mom was holding Ellen, I kept wiggling around to get a better view.  Patrick really seemed to like my daddy’s Irish hat that he was wearing by the way he kept looking at it.  Then if that wasn’t cool enough, Mrs. Thompson brought my mommy and daddy a super yummy dinner.  My mom says it was the best lettuce wraps that she has ever had.  I also think that Mrs. Thompson can read mom’s mind, because she also brought delicious fruit, which is mommy’s favorite pregnancy craving.  :)  Now I get to hang out with mommy and daddy listening to the rain storm outside.  I also have a feeling that we might get to sleep in tomorrow too.  Me and daddy are calling it practice for the up coming football Saturdays in the fall.

Thursday's Surprises 5/12

Today was a day full of surprises!  Around lunch the mailman dropped off an unexpected package for me.  This brought a big smile to mommy’s face because she had not been feeling well.  This surprise package was a soft and cuddly “Sleep Sheep.”  It is to help me sleep after mommy and daddy bring me home.  Until that time, daddy has been using the Sleep Sheep to practice his crazy skills with the “jogging” stroller.  Please don’t tell him but woo…he needs practice working that thing still.  He is a hazardous driver! Thank you Laura Fenger (6th grade teammate).

Our second surprise came from Aunt Nikki, Uncle Paul, and Grandpa Weddig.  They sent us some Omaha frozen meals.  I am excited for Dad to cook these!!  I am sure they will be yummy!  Thank you.

Tuesday 5-10-11

Today was a L O N G day because daddy had to attend the middle school parent teacher conferences.  Mommy got lucky because the monotonous day was broken up by a visit from a former teammate!  Pat Fackler broke up the day by bringing a super yummy supper!!  She brought a cheesy and meaty macaroni casserole and a tantalizing jell-o salad.  I was so excited and dinner was so yummy that I did the Hustle for mom.  Those of you that know mommy… this needs no explanation (disco!)  :)  I knew it would make mommy smile.  Mommy secretly loves old disco music…but shhhh……I should not tell everyone that!

If that was not enough….Pat also surprised mommy with her shower gift.  I can not wait to sit at the table with mommy and daddy and have dinner.  I look forward to making a huge mess :)  I am sure they will take lots of pictures of me being messy....just hope these photos do not resurface at my high school graduation party.

Another day, another trip to Dairy Dan’s :)

Mommy had another doctor’s appointment today.  I was VERY active in the morning to keep her anxiety down.  She listened to me this time.  All went well at the doctor’s appointment.  They scheduled another ultrasound for next week.  They just want to make sure I can’t try to make another break for it.  Of course after another successful appointment, dad took the long way home.  This means we get to stop at DAIRY DAN’S!!  This is my favorite ice cream place.  This time mom listened to me and got a strawberry sundae.  I would have demanded a chocolate malt like dad got…but he always gives me & mom a taste.  No need to get our own when dad is so willing to share.  It really does make it better when they use chocolate ice cream to make the malts.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Today is Mother’s Day!!  Let me tell you, me and daddy had a surprise for mommy.  Daddy went and got mommy a bunch of “Little Critter books”.  They were from me of course, because that is my nickname.  He also made mommy a very special breakfast.  He made her very favorite chorizo breakfast burrito.  It was yummy!!  It just might be my new favorite breakfast too.  It sure is nice to have a daddy that can cook almost as well as my mommy!

Swivel Wheel Jogging Stroller and “Boys are Better Bib”

Clara Ward, Theresa/Rob DeSmith, Kathleen Dopp, Jean-Marie Hunt, Kathy Dunlap, Allison O’Neil, Deb Jansen, Brenda Bradley, Marge Bigg, Earleen Baze, Janine Huisjen (Special Education Staff).

WOW!  Thank you!  Mom and Dad love this stroller.  They literally spent hours playing with all of the strollers in Babies R Us.  This one was the easiest for mommy and daddy to fold and unfold.  They think it will work great when they go camping, fishing, and to the park in the summer!  I also have to say I agree….Boys Are Better!!  ;)    Mommy will also be posting pictures of daddy putting the stroller together :)  It was funny!!

Boppy Pillow and slip cover

Thank you - Kathy Freeman, Angie Reynolds, Jean Maiville, and Jean Philo (5th grade team).

Thank you for the Boppy Pillow and slip cover.  I can’t wait to use it to lounge around on (If I can get the pillow away from daddy).  He has really enjoyed playing with it this week.

Also, Thank you to Liberty Torrence for the gift card that will help mommy make sure I eat well.  A special thank you to the Torrence kids for the hat that will shield my eyes from the sun in the summer when daddy takes me fishing.

Cleaning up da poop :)

Thank you - Dan Laird, Dave Hovarter, Marcy Thayer, and Ashley (8th grade team).

Thank you so much for the “crappy” gift. LOL  I was very excited to see this gift.  Now I hope that my daddy can teach mom, quickly, how to change my diapers.  The changing pad, diapers, butt cream, body wash, and lotion will definitely help dad with that task.  It has all the things mom and dad need to change me in style and keep my bum clean as a whistle.  Thank you.

Diaper Wreath

Thank you!! Myrna Coxon and Darcy Thilo

Thank you for the diaper wreath and all the baby toys.  I can’t wait to use the little blue ducky in the tub and sing, “rubber ducky you’re the one…”  Not to mention all of the little “presents” I will be leaving mommy and daddy in the little monkey diapers.

Friday 5/6/11

Today is a stressful day.  Mom and dad are going back to the doctor to see if the procedure that was done last Friday worked.  Mom was scared that it had not worked and she would end up meeting me too soon.  I kept moving and shaking in the waiting room to let her know everything was okay, but she did not listen to me.  She managed to hold it together until they brought her back to the ultrasound room.  When the ultrasound technician would not tell her anything she got nervous again and started crying. We then had to wait almost an hour to see the doctor.  That was somewhat comforting to mom and dad, because if something was wrong….the doctor would have showed up right away.  When Dr. Roth finally showed up, he told them that everything looked good.  I could tell it felt like a weight was lifted off their shoulders.  In fact, dad was so happy he took the long way home.  This allowed mom to enjoy being outside and he stopped at mommy’s favorite ice cream shop as a surprise.  I tried to tell her that I wanted a chocolate malt, but she overruled me and got a hot fudge sundae instead.  Dad got the malt and it was fantastic!!  Maybe next time mom will listen to me. :)  All and all it wasn’t a bad 27 week “birthday.”

Thursday 5/5/11

Happy Cinco de Mayo!  I am very excited today, because Liberty Torrance brought us a fantastic meal!  It made me do a Mexican hat dance.  Daddy likes it when I do that, because he likes to feel me move.  I also get to open all kinds of fun gifts from the baby shower that Mommy and Daddy missed.  I sure am lucky that Mom and Dad work with such wonderful people that care about them so much.  They sure feel loved.  That makes me feel loved.  Mom and Dad will post pictures of all of the fun stuff I received.  If all of that was not exciting enough, grandma Weddig will be here to visit soon.  I sure am a lucky little critter!

Tuesday 5/3/11

I think Mommy needs to relax.  She became concerned on Tuesday morning that something may be wrong.  So we called the on call doctor and took a precautionary field trip to OB Triage. They listened to my heartbeat, which always makes me smile.  It is my way of talking to mom and dad while I am still in mommy’s tummy.  After checking everything out, the doctors said everything was okay and I got to go home again.  I was very excited to go home because Laura Fenger brought me and my parents a wonderful meal.  Chicken and rice casserole, salad, and a bubbly fun drink that made me smile and kick.

Monday 5/2/11

I am very excited because on Monday, mommy got to go home from the hospital. The doctors said she has an incompetent cervix.  She is feeling good and very excited to sleep in her own bed.  I am very excited because that means grandma Bryan is coming to visit and take good care of us for a couple of days.

I'm still cookin'!

Hi, I'm the newest baby in the Bryan family.  Mommy is on medical bedrest and can't travel right now.  She's trying to keep me safe and keep me cooking until I'm ready to meet all of you!  I can still hear everything so I can hear mommy's expression as she opens her shower gifts.  We will report photos and our blog here!
