Rub a dub, dub….I can’t wait to get in the TUB!!! Friday 6-2-11

Today the FedEx man dropped off a wonderful package.  It was a gift set of Johnson & Johnson’s bath soaps and lotions.  I can’t wait to soak in a bath and smell wonderful from this gift set of bath goodies!  It was from mommy’s cousin Heather in da UP.  Which by the way, I hope to see before mommy and daddy have to go back to work in September.  Thank you very much Heather Wastell and family.

A Breath of Fresh Air & A Refreshing Dinner!

Today was an exciting day!  Janine Huisjen stopped by to visit and brought a wonderful and refreshing dinner for mom and dad.  She brought an assortment of refreshing summer salads that were filled with fresh vegetables and a fantastic strawberry dessert.  They made me jump and jive with excitement because I know eating my veggies will make me a strong little boy.  I showed mom later that evening how strong I was by kicking her belly so hard….I knocked a piece of paper that was on her belly onto the floor!  Daddy was proud!  He said he was positive that I would be a kicker for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish soon!  I think he is right! I did my calisthenics that night to the ND Fight Song!

Even better then the dinner was visiting with Janine!  I could tell mommy was sad that Janine will be retiring at the end of the school year.  She sure has enjoyed working with her over the past 6 years. Thank you Janine!

A Fantastic Trip….to see the doctor??? Wednesday, June 2nd

Mommy had another trip to see the doctor today.  She was VERY NERVIOUS!  We started the appointment with an ultrasound.  They wanted to check mommy’s cervix to make sure I could not make a break for it.  They also wanted to make sure I had enough fluid and take a couple of pictures of ME!!  When they were taking pictures of me the ultrasound tech noticed that I was practicing my breathing skills!  How exciting!!!  I did not want to have my picture taken that day, because I was super comfy and focusing on learning how to breathe.  So, I covered my face with my arm.  I figured mom and dad got to see me breath…that would have to be good enough for the day!

Next, it was on to see the doctor.  She said everything looked GREAT!  Everything looked so great that they changed to type of bed rest mom is on!  She can now walk around on occasion and take field trips every few days! Still no lifting, pushing, work or cleaning but…. We get to go out to eat, take rides in the car, go hang out by the pool and go see a movie!!! We can not do this every day…but we can still do all of these wonderful things every once and a while. YEAH!!  I was so excited; I decided to shake my booty to Madonna’s Celebrate!

“Come Monday” A Birthday Celebration! Monday, May 30th

The next day, (Monday) was Mommys Birthday!!   Mommy and daddy still did not have power…but they were not going to let that ruin the day. I started the day by singing the correct lyrics to the song “Come Monday” (Mommy loves this song but can’t seem to get the words correct.  She always slips in something about a paper bag…. Silly mommy should not be allowed to go to Buffett Bash.  Good thing she can’t go this year!)

Mommy had the great idea to call Consumers Energy to find out when they thought the power was going to come back on.  The original date they were given was May 31st, (Tuesday) by .  They thought this was no big deal and got ready for the day.

Later that day, Grandma and Grampa Bryan decided to come and visit for Mommy’s Birthday!  They went to have dinner at Texas Roadhouse and enjoyed the air conditioning (it was getting kind of warm).  They then went to Big B coffee to have a cool drink…. I was okay with this because I did not want mom to get to hot and “hard boil critter.”  This also made me happy because I knew a yummy berry pie was soon to be mine. I love it when mom “Pours Some Sugar on Me.”

This little break also allowed mom and dad to charge their cell phones.  Well, dad decided to call Consumers Energy to see if they were still predicting power to come on Tuesday.  When he called…they had updated the time.  They updated the time the power would come back on… they were now predicting that the power would come back on Thursday, June 2nd by .  UGH! It was at this time, mom and dad decided to upgrade from “camping” to a hotel.  From reading the news we found out that up to 60 power lines were snapped in half outside of Mason.  This along with all of the trees that had fallen on lines in town, was the reason for the delay in getting the lights turned back on.

Mom and dad enjoyed their time at the Holiday Inn.  Mommy was able to relax by the pool and read while daddy swam. Mommy also soaked her feet in the hot tub from time to time.  This was just the change of scenery that mommy needed.  The power came back on sometime Tuesday night and we returned home Wednesday morning.

When we returned home we did have a package waiting for us.  Thank you to Aunt Tammy, Uncle Larry (Hoeft)  and Aunt Mary (Olson) for the baby toys

The Great Mason Power Outage of 2011 – Sunday. 5-29-11

Well, mom and dad were having a very uneventful day.  It was around when mom and dad decided to turn on the TV.  When they did they were surprised to find out that the local station was broadcasting some special programming to let people know a storm was on the way.  So, I decided to do my tumbling to some “Thunderstruck.”

Storms always excite mom because she loves watching them (weird…huh?)  Anyways, it was very calm outside.  No breeze, no birds flying in the sky, just a calm evening.  That was until they started tracking a storm that was scheduled to hit Mason (the place where mom and dad live).  Mom and dad were not worried until they heard this odd sound…the storm coming.  It was at that point that mom and dad decided to take a siesta in the bathroom.  They could hear the wind whipping around outside from the storm.  Within a few minutes the power went out.  After about 15 minutes they emerged from the bathroom to find a lot of tree branches down and some debris in the parking lot.  Dad decided to venture out to see how bad it really was.  They had a lot of very large trees down blocking roads and down power lines in there neighborhood.  Dad took some pictures so mom could see the destruction since she couldn’t leave the house.

Well, this did not bother mom and dad at all.  They were happy they were just without power.  Dad decided to venture to Meijer to grab dinner for us (the only store open in Mason).

When dad got back they had a picnic dinner and sat around a “campfire” (aka candles) for the rest of the night.  They laughed, joked around and ate “somores.”  I of course had to sing some songs and do some tumbling before bed.  The “campfire” reminded me of a “Ring of Fire.”  So, I sang some Johnny Cash and did my tumbling.  When I was done mom and dad ventured to bed with no power.

Today was an uneventful day that was broken up by the UPS man….TWICE! Friday. 5-27-11

Our first delivery came all the way from the land of beer and cheese….Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  A city that mom LOVES!  The package was for me of course and not mom…but that does not matter.  This was a very colorful package.  It contained some super comfy PJ’s that I look forward to snuggling in.  It also contained a book that will teach me my colors!  Mom said that she loved the colors and textures and she can not wait to read it to me.  Thank you Uncle Steve and Aunt Kathy (Weddig) for the wonderful gift.

The next gift comes from a place mommy really missed going to visit this past weekend…. This package made it all the way here from Da UP!  It contained all kinds of goodies like, pacifiers, toys, cloths, a movie to pass the time, a little critter photo album and a PICTURE OF ME!  A LITTLE CRITTER picture to hang in my room.  Mom had to laugh because she said that if I look like critter I will be a hairy beast…..then she laughed, because she knows that probably will not happen because being a hairy beast is not a problem the Weddig males have!  LOL Not funny mommy!!  I can always hope to have a head of hair like daddy.

One of the shirts is a bottle that says “Born to Tailgate CMU.”  (Daddy says I get that from mommy)  FIRE UP CHIPS!!!!!

This next package made me so happy I decided to mess with mom a little.  I decided to practice my karaoke skills to, “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow.”  I did this just for Mrs. Harris!  I was thinking about singing, “Bye, Bye, Bye” but I think I will save that ditty for another day.

Thank you Amy Harris and Family!  We miss you and can not wait to make the trip to Da U.P. to see you!!

A rainy day with a glimmer of sunshine! Thursday 5-26-11

Today was a cold and rainy day.  Mom was kind of happy that she could not go outside and instead enjoyed listening to the pitter patter of rain drops on the roof.  Even with all of the rain, today was a day that did have a little glimmer of sunshine.  Jeanie Murphy (6th grade teammate) brought a spectacular dish.  She made a wonderful rigatoni pasta bake that was perfect comfort food on a cold and rainy day.  What made me even happier was to hear my mom laugh as Jeanie shared some funny stories with mom.  This made me “shake my groove thing” to some KC and the Sunshine band.
